Serving the Community for 40 Years

2023 marks the Richmond Food Bank’s 40th anniversary. On March 6th, 1983, the Richmond Food Bank opened its doors to its first clients. 20 families were served that day at Howard de Beck School. Since then, we’ve moved around Richmond, including The Public Works Yard on Lynas Lane and two locations in Steveston. In 2007, we finally settled in our current location at Cedarbridge Way.

Today, we provide grocery distributions five days a week and serve over 1,000 households each week. We have over 150 volunteers who help us with our daily operations, from driving and picking up donations to sorting and distributing food.

Over the last 40 years, the Richmond Food Bank continued to provide nutritious food for our community members in need. We are able to carry on the work, thanks to the hard work of all our volunteers and the generous support of local businesses, organizations, and members.
