Happy Birthday to Us!

Happy Birthday to Us!

By Keith Yee in RFB in the Community on March 27, 2018

The Richmond Food Bank turned 35 this March- we officially opened our doors in March 1983 at St Alban Church!

We were originally planned as a temporary source of support during an economic downturn.  However, the need only grew.

We served 20 families the first day with grocery hampers.  Today, we serve more than 2200 people each week through a variety of programs.  You can learn more about us and about our programs.  We’re able to help so many people through the hard work of over 230 weekly volunteers and the generous support of 2500 donors.

Thank you to our community for their generous support of our neighbours in need over the past 35 years. Your donations of money, food, and time have helped many Richmond families through challenging times.

A special thank you to the RFB volunteers, who have made the Richmond Food Bank a welcoming, friendly place.

If you would like to help provide healthy food assistance to Richmond people and families going through financial difficulty, please consider volunteering with us or making a donation.
