The annual BC Thanksgiving Food Drive is just around the corner and our volunteers are busy preparing for this year’s food drive that will take place between September 14th-18th with collection day on Saturday the 19th. Get involved in this province wide initiative with your kind donations and help bring hope to families within your neighbourhood.

Locally, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is sponsoring this year’s BC Thanksgiving Food Drive in Richmond. In 2014, volunteers from the church as well as our very own Food Bank volunteers went door to door and delivered empty bags and an informational brochures to over 20,000 residences within Richmond. The filled bags of donated non-perishable food items were picked up on collection day, sorted and delivered to the food bank the very same day. Over 50 dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly to collect 13 pallets of food for the food bank. We are so grateful for all their efforts in stocking up our food supplies at a time when our supplies usually run low.

If you are thinking of donating some food, we have our updated list of our most needed items. Please be reminded that we do not solicit door to door financial donations.

The BCTFD is a province wide initiative that helps feed thousands of needy neighbours across BC who rely on food banks for their basic nutritional needs. To learn more about this initiative or to find out how collection day works, please visit the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive website.
