Kids and teens need nutritious food- to grow, be healthy, and to effectively learn at school- yet too many Richmond students go to school hungry.
In partnership with the Richmond School District, we’re trying to address this need by offering and supporting meal programs in seven Richmond schools.
In the 2015-2016 school year, we had three pilot meal program projects. In 2016-2017, we’ve expanded to nine programs in seven Richmond schools:
- Breakfast programs in four elementary schools
- Lunch programs in two high schools
- Snack programs in three schools
In total, we are serving meals to an average of more 400 children each week school is in session.
If you are a teacher or an administrator and know of a school that could use a meal program, or already has a meal program that could use resources, please Contact Us.
