How You Can Help- Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of our organization. We absolutely cannot do it without their help. Their gift of time helps us in furthering our mission and to bring hope to our neighbours in need. Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, make new friends, gain academic credit, give back to the community and feel good about it at the same time.

“Our community has been very good to me and I want to give back to it.”- Esther

We serve more than 1500 people weekly thanks to our 180 dedicated volunteers.

“It’s a surprise that I so quickly made such good friends.”- Shelagh

Richmond Food Bank volunteers:

      • collect, sort, pack, and distribute donated food;
      • drive our forklift and organize our warehouse;
      • represent us at community events;
      • provide outreach and information to our clients; serve as directors;
      • much, much more

Last year alone, volunteers gave over 30 000 hours of their time to the Richmond Food Bank.

“From the forklift driver, to sorters, to people handing out fresh vegetables, you just come down to do some good and have a great time doing it.”- Ken
