Congratulations RFB Volunteers’ Dragon Boat Team!

Congratulations to our RFB Volunteers’ Dragon Boat Team for their Silver Medal Finish at the 2016 Steveston Dragon Boat Festival!
The RFB Volunteers’ team fiercely competed in four races, ending up in the Consolation D Division for the final race where they placed 2nd!
The weather was beautiful and hot, but that didn’t deter the paddlers, vendors, or fans. The Festival featured 72 teams from across BC and Washington State. That’s over 1400 people there to just paddle- not counting the vendors and fans!
Thank you to Dragon Boat BC for sponsoring the team’s race entry and for collecting donations to help our neighbours in need, to the UBC Boathouse for donating the use of a practice boat for this season, and to the many people who stopped by with a donation or well-wishes. A big congratulations to the 2016 RFB Volunteers’ Team for their success!
