We Accept Perishable Food from Businesses

By Keith Yee in Donation on January 15, 2018

Does your business have excess or close-dated perishable food items?  Want to make sure that they get used instead of being discarded or going into the compost?

The Richmond Food Bank will gratefully accept your items!

An example of what we received from Shoppers Drug Mart at Richmond Centre

We accept perishable food items from wholesale and retail businesses, including fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy (eg milk, yogurt), prepared food (eg sandwiches, ready to eat meals), and meat products so long as they aren’t past the best before date (same day as the best before date is acceptable).

Businesses that frequently donate perishable food items to the RFB include Safeway at Richlea Shopping Centre, Pricesmart Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart at Richmond Centre, and General Mills Canada.  We also receive donations from businesses through Refood.  We would be thrilled to add your retail or wholesale business to this list.

Our drivers can pickup your excess, close-dated perishable food items on Monday-Friday between 9 am and 1 pm.  Please Contact Us to schedule a pickup or setup frequent (daily or weekly) pickups.
